Our Story

What started off as a mobile surgical team of two, veterinary founders Dr Patrick and Dr Rina Maguire, later expanded to a rehabilitation unit at Balestier Road. Thereafter, Dr Rina pioneered a clinic at East Coast Road to cater to the needs for avian and exotic pets in Singapore.

In 2021, these three pillars were integrated into the Beecroft Animal Specialist & Emergency Hospital, the only independent referral veterinary hospital in Singapore.

Our 10,000 square foot facility is fully equipped and includes a CT and a 1.5 T MRI machine, two digital radiography rooms, ultrasound machines with echocardiography, scope equipment, interventional radiology facility, rehabilitation area, emergency treatment area, ICU, dedicated dog, cat and exotics wards, and three surgical suites (one equipped with a fluoroscope).

We have over 20 veterinarians including board-certified specialists, a criticalist, and emergency clinicians supported by over 60 veterinary technicians, nurses, and assistants. It is one of the largest veterinary centres in the region.

Our Vision

Our facility offers a walk-in service for urgent cases, similar to a traditional hospital. An emergency nurse will triage the cases, followed by evaluations from our dedicated emergency and critical care team.

We accept referrals exclusively for our canine and feline services. We recommend that clients consult their primary care veterinarians if a referral is necessary. Our goal is to collaborate closely with your primary vet to ensure seamless care for your beloved pet.

The avian and exotics department is available for both primary care patients and referrals, allowing our exotic specialists to provide insights on intricate cases.

While a referral is not mandatory, we highly recommend obtaining one from your primary veterinarian before booking an appointment. We are eager to collaborate with your current vet to ensure your pet receives the highest quality of care.

Dr Patrick Maguire is a distinguished specialist veterinary surgeon and the co-founder of Beecroft Animal Specialist & Emergency Hospital in Singapore. His veterinary expertise spans nearly two decades across California, New York, and Singapore.

His journey from his early academic excellence at a top-performing high school in New
South Wales, Australia, to earning the status of a board-certified specialist surgeon reflects his enduring commitment to excellence in animal care.
